Senior Mechanical Engineer

Ampromech are an Irish engineering design consultancy, that specialises in Mechanical, Electrical and Process engineering.
Our market focus areas are Industrial projects in the food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, data centres and energy sustainability and optimisation.
We now seek an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at a time of growth in the business and the role would be suited to a candidate looking to grow and lead the Mechanical department.
The Role
As part of this role you will be required to:
- Act as project manager on medium sized projects
- Act as mechanical lead on larger projects as part of multi-discipline teams
- Act as mentor to junior and intermediate level engineers
- Design of utility and HVAC systems
- Development of client specific equipment specifications, registers, schedules and equipment lists.
- Report writing
- Site visits and surveys
- Attendance at M&E workshops
- Client & contractor meeting attendances
- Coordination of mechanical and electrical services
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering with at least 8 years relevant experience. Key experiences are listed below:
- Track record of delivering engineering designs to client requirements from project inception through to commissioning and handover
- Proven ability of designing industrial scale mechanical systems – HVAC, steam, LPHW, compressed air, chilled water, potable water etc
- Be confident and approachable when working with staff members, other design disciplines and also clients
- Exposure to and being able to drive and navigate through BIM / Revit models
- Excellent command of the English language, especially in written form.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite – Teams, excel, word, outlook,
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Good understanding of EN and Irish standards
- Highly organised and the ability to meet deliverable deadlines when required.
